What's El Diablo?
“El Diablo” translates into “The Devil” in Spanish but you’re probably referring to something mentioned in my blog. Not sure from what post you got it from but it must have been a loooooong time ago cause I haven’t got into “El Diablo” mode in a long time.
Long story short: I was new blood here at SideOneDummy Records and I was EXCITED! Excited to be on the team, working at a record label, working with bands that I liked and on top of that excited to be going on my first ever company trip. The company was headed to San Francisco because we were going to go see Flogging Molly open for Green Day (Jimmy Eat World played too) on Sept. 24, 2005. It was the first time ever I was flown anywhere on the company dime with co-workers. In an effort that make sure I could “hang,” I kind of set it off a tiny bit in the alcohol consumption and by the end of the night my boss was calling me “El Diablo.” I guess, since they’ve only known the hard working, quiet, shy Alex, when I got a little cray cray in San Francisco, they witnessed me but in ‘Diablo’ form. They still talk about it to this day. It was fun when I’d tap into my alcohol-influenced alter ego. I’m pretty chill now.
