This Damn Food Truck Business aka Pinches Loncheras

I’m having a hard time understanding this food truck phenomena that’s going on here in Los Angeles. I visit LAist.com alot because I like getting tons of my local news from this site but it seems like they’re featuring a new food truck spot that’s “the shit” more frequently. Nothing against the site, I still back it. It’s the whole food truck concept and how they are always on the move and can only be tracked via Twitter that I’m having a hard time grasping. Instantly, I picture a flock of people (mainly hipsters) chasing after these trucks trying to get their hands on this more than likely delicious yet overly-priced food like in the opening sequence of a Hard Days Night. Is it that damn serious? I mean shit, if I’m walking by and the infamous Kogi truck is posted up, why not right? We all try certain food spots just to see what the big fuss is all about but i’m not gonna be way across town, find out this Asian Taco truck that’s “sooooo good” is on the corner of Who Gives Ave. and A Shit Blvd. and make my way who knows how many miles to drop $2-3 on a taco? No mames. I’ll probably try these spots one day but more than likely it won’t be on a 2-10 mile trip and i’m definitely not wasting 20-40 minutes in line to order. I leave that kind of waiting for Pinks Hot Dogs (which i’m still not fully convinced is the shit, my lady just happens to love their nacho cheese chili fries and i like picking at them, maybe a lil’ too much) In the meantime, i’ll stick to the OG taco trucks in the hood. Which by the way, one got robbed at gun point the other day. Hispanics robbing Hispanics. That’s like Black on Black crime. It’s sad really. Whats the most those dudes could have made out with? $350 and a bowl of leftover Al Pastor. Pinches mamones.
