Who knew that having our own apartment would mean getting used to filling ice trays again. Been so used to leaning a cup against a lever and ice coming out without any effort. But I’m extremely grateful because it’s ours. They’re our ice trays I just filled a minute ago as I listen to Iron & Wine in our living room as she and the baby take a nap on our bed. All these years it’s been me. I like “ours” better.
Lissette does things that remind me why I’m in love with this woman. When you’re in a relationship for a long time, you tend to overlook a lot of the little things that you probably did when you were courting each other. (Courting is what “trying to hit it” is now) Maybe you don’t say certain things too often or do things that lets the other person know, “Hey, I’m still into you.” I know I’ve been guilty of that but there’s moments that I have that remind me why this girl is the one for me.
Exhibit A.
As most of you know, Lissette and I are expecting our first baby boy in March 2012 so at 5 months, her increased appetite is starting to show. Her thing (well, for now) is hamburgers. I stopped by Carls Jr. the other day to pick her up a Steakhouse $6 Burger. She was really REALLY enjoying it and whilst tearing it up:
Me: Damn, girl. You tearing it up.
Lissette: It’s really good. Is this a Big Kahuna Burger?
Both Of Us: Laughing (or as some of you say but don’t actually do, LOL. Cept we were really laughing)
Exhibit B.
This one can be explained in nothing but images exchanged via text messaging.
Lissette to me:

Ensuing conversation:

The End!
My 4th of July consisted of getting up early and making breakfast and taking it to Lissette’s house, going back to my place to workout and cool off watching 3 episodes of Martin, headed to Long Beach for some Lebanese food and getting to the beach a little too early and wait 4 hours for the Queen Mary to give us a fireworks facial.

I call this one “Patas and Beach”

This one I named “The Loneliest Seagull in da’ LBC”

This one I call “Pata Chuca y Cielito Lindo”

This one I penned, “Babe, it’s a coke not a 40!”

I named this one here “Silence of the Lights…except for our homeboy Victor and Javier who probably went to TJ last weekend and was blasting some Disneyworld type cuetes behind us so we had a 2 for 1 show.”
And se acabo.
Caught up with the two Jimmys. Jimmy Sr. and Jimmy Jr. via webchatterbox.

And then we had some of that GRAPE DRIIINK!!

Earlier, Lissette and I watched as El Salvador got smoked by Mexico en La Copa Del Loro and then Dallas went on and blew Game 3. Ala gran puchica…

John Lennon - Out The Blue
Today is Lissette’s birthday. We spent a nice morning having coffee and sharing pastries before we headed off to work. This song is for her. I wish I could say that her and I are doing 100% amazing right now but who said relationships are meant to be easy? We love each other, of that there is no doubt. That’s always a good start.
Out the blue you came to me
And blew away life’s misery
Out the blue life’s energy
Out the blue you came to me
Everyday I thank the Lord and Lady
For the way that you came to me
Anyway it had to be two minds one destiny
Her artwork is featured in a local artists gallery this week. Pretty neat and excited for her.
And here are some my favorites from Paris, France.

In front of the Oscar Wilde tomb in Pere Lachaise Cemetery where we saw Jim Morrison’s tomb as well. Pretty epic moment for Lissette. All that red stuff on the stone are red lipstick kisses.

When I die I want a fancy tomb. I think I deserve it.

This was me every 5 minutes organizing our next destination lost.

The Arc of “Is this it?”

Risking someone running off with our camera at the Musee Du Louvre.

Chilling with my homie Eiffel. Lissette takes great pictures of me. She sees things in me no one will ever see. Me taking pictures = suck.

Grubbin on bread rolls and sippin on wine like Jesus would have wanted me to.

Giving our feet a break by the Seine River.

Soooooo many pictures. This is by the Notre Dame Cathedral.

With the Notre Dame behind me…
My trip has been in the wraps for weeks now but I still want to add to my blog my favorite pictures from the trip. There was lots and lots of pictures but these are a few I want to share. Enjoy!
London

That big clock thing.

Admiring dead crows art at Tate Modern Museum with Guy.

I think it’s like a venue or something where small local bands like Led Zeppelin played.

Our intention was to get a badass picture of us walking Abbey Road but we ended up looking lame and Guy came out looking pretty cool.

I’m comfortable enough to say this, I love this guy.

Us in the underground or “The Tube.” We spent a lot of time on subways.
On to Paris…
